[Hopin] (https://hopin.to) is the first all-in-one virtual event platform that enables event teams to reproduce the experience of an in-person event online. Hopin events are known for their interactive expo booths, stages, roundtables, and one-on-one "chat roulette" networking capabilities.
TC Disrupt, a five-day event with over 10,000 attendees, brings together top leaders and communities in the venture capital, startup, and technology industries, including previous speakers such as Mark Zuckerberg, Ashton Kutcher, Marc Benioff, Elon Musk, and Marissa Mayer.
Unique to Disrupt is its signature programming, including the Startup Battlefield, CrunchMatch Networking, Startup Alley, and high-impact speakers from around the world — all of which will happen virtually for the first time on the Hopin platform.
"One of the primary reasons TechCrunch selected Hopin was its unique ability to recreate the in-person event experience as closely as possible in a virtual environment," said Joey Hinson, Director of Operations at TechCrunch. "Hopin has modeled its platform after physical venues and enhanced it with various features and tools that are only accessible in a digital world. Effectively creating a virtual venue where attendees and sponsors can intuitively navigate the different areas of Disrupt --- from reception, to two stages with nonstop live programming, to the expo hall with hundreds of exhibiting companies, to live networking receptions, and more --- while simultaneously interacting with fellow attendees in real time through chat and one-on-one video. Hopin’s rich data capture capabilities is a massive benefit, especially to sponsors, who can use this data to extend their reach well beyond the conference."
"We're delighted to partner with TechCrunch and power the first-ever fully virtual Disrupt this year," said Johnny Boufarhat, founder and CEO of Hopin. "Disrupt is an iconic, value-packed annual conference and we look forward to delivering that same level of value in fresh and innovative ways through our platform. Expect to experience some never-before-seen virtual event features that we're releasing with Disrupt that will be available platform-wide going forward."
The partnership between TechCrunch and Hopin has resulted in a number of new platform features being developed and launched for the first time at the flagship conference, many of which Johnny Boufarhat [will discuss](https://techcrunch.com/2020/07/30/talking-virtual-events-and-disrupt-with-hopin-founder-johnny-boufarhat/) in his interview on the Disrupt Stage with Joey Hinson.
