Horizon Goodwill Assists Mile-Long Yard Sale Participants in Removing Excess Items
Horizon Goodwill will help sellers be free of unwanted yard sale items by not having to repack them and lug them back to the house. At the same time, those items can help people realize and achieve their full potential through dignity and the power of work.
HAGERSTOWN, Md., June 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Mile-Long Yard Sale has become an annual Fourth of July tradition in Hagerstown's North End for those who love the thrill of the hunt and the joy of a good bargain.
CEO, David Shuster said, "The Mile Long Yard Sale is a fun event for everyone. For Goodwill, it is one of our most significant donation drives. We appreciate the Hagerstown community supporting Goodwill and our mission of helping people overcome barriers and obtain meaningful employment."
But what happens with all that unsold stuff when it's over? Horizon Goodwill has a solution.
Horizon Goodwill will help sellers be free of unwanted yard sale items by not having to repack them and lug them back to the house. At the same time, those items can help people realize and achieve their full potential through dignity and the power of work.
There are four ways people can donate their leftover items from the Mile-Long Yard Sale:
1. Bring items to one of the Horizon Goodwill trucks that will be onsite during the Mile-Long Yard Sale. Deadline is 3 p.m.
2. Leave items on the curb at the end of the Mile Long Yard Sale. The Horizon Goodwill Donation Trucks will ride throughout the neighborhood from 4 to 6 p.m. July 4. If it is raining, take your things inside and put up your mailbox flag. Drivers will knock on the door to pick up the items.
3. Schedule a home pick up on Friday, July 5. Call 301-733-7330, ext. 1609 by 4 p.m. Thursday, June 27, to be eligible for home pick up.
4. Or bring items to one of the convenient Hagerstown donation sites:
- 14515 Pennsylvania Ave. Open until 6 p.m.
- 151 North Burhans Blvd. Open until 8 p.m.
- 1101 Maryland Ave. Open until 8 p.m.
