Horizon Yacht Company selects Pearlson Shiplift Corporation to Design and Build New Shiplift System for Superyacht Refit & Repair Facility in Taiwan
Horizon Yacht Company (Horizon) and Pearlson Shiplift Corporation (PSC), are pleased to announce the signing of a new contract for the Design and Build of a new State-of-the-Art Shiplift System in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
MIAMI, April 17, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Horizon Yacht Company (Horizon) and Pearlson Shiplift Corporation (PSC), are pleased to announce the signing of a new contract for the Design and Build of a new State-of-the-Art Shiplift System in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Horizon has been making major infrastructure investments over the last several years, as demand for Asia's leading Yacht Builder to produce more vessels continues to increase. Most recently in 2021, Horizon completed a 106,745 sqft expansion to their Kaohsiung shipyard, allowing them to accommodate the build of seven (7) yachts up to 120 feet in length simultaneously.
With this latest announcement in the design and build of a new Pearlson Shiplift System, Horizon will further expand their position as the leading Asian Yacht Builder and will have the capacity and capability to provide unprecedented maintenance, repair and refit service to Asia's superyacht market.
Horizon selected the team from Pearlson Shiplift Corporation based upon the shiplift builder's reputation and dominance as the world leader in shiplift technology, which aligns well with the yacht builders' leading reputation in their industry. Horizon recognized that the time-proven wire rope system, when combined with Pearlson's latest Articulated Platform design, provides far superior reliability and lower maintenance and operational costs compared to any other drydock technology currently in existence.
Upon completion in 2024, the new Pearlson Shiplift System will measure 60m long x 13.7m wide and accommodate vessels up to 1,800 metric tons.
