Houston Chiropractic Office Now Evaluating Leg Length Inequality With Special X-Ray

"Leg length inequality is usually taught as a functional difference, with only a small percentage of people dealing with an anatomically short leg. Dr. Mally has now documented 5,000 cases with over 90% of patients demonstrating a leg length difference of more than 3mm. The difference is in how the leg length is being measured."
Traditionally, leg length differences are measured with a tape measure, measuring the distance from the umbilicus (your belly button) to the ankle. This has been shown to be unreliable from doctor to doctor, particularly when dealing with millimeters - and that can make all the difference.
Dr. Cordova continued, "In the past few months we've examined approximately 50 patients for anatomical leg length deficiency using the x-ray technique taught by Dr. Mally. Our numbers are closer to the 90% instead of the 3% you would expect from what you're taught in school. The solution is a small heel lift inserted in the shoe to make up the difference. Patients have noticed an immediate improvement; feeling more stabile, holding their chiropractic adjustments longer, and reduced pain. It's been remarkable."
