HOUSTON, April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- HR Maximizer, a subscription-based recruitment services firm that specializes in the delivery of interested, available and qualified registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, and physician candidates, announced today it will partner with the Houston Healthcare HR Association (HHHRA) to host the 2nd annual HHHRA | HR Maximizer Conference in August.
Rollis Fontenot III, President of Ascend HR Corp says that "Healthcare organizations all over the United States are experiencing difficulties in attracting, engaging and retaining both providers and clinical staff. This conference will maintain a laser focus on this topic for the 2nd year in a row, which addresses a needed gap in the continuum of conferences available today. The Houston Healthcare HR Association (HHHRA) is the right partner for this conference and we look forward to the event."
The conference, which will be held on Aug. 8 and 9 2019, will take place at the Hilton Americas Houston and its theme will be "Positive Disruption in Healthcare." Designed to provide insightful discussion and thought leaders addressing the current state of recruiting healthcare providers and clinical staff, the conference will cover a range of topics. "With over 50 million square feet and 106k employees, Houston is the home of the largest medical center in the World. This makes Houston a great home for a conference focused on healthcare providers and clinicians," says Leah Ramsey, Board Member & Secretary of the HHHRA and Vice President of HR Maximizer, Inc.
"Last year was a tremendous success," says Dr. Elsie Crowninshield, RNP, DNP, CCRN, NE-BC, Healthcare consultant for DrElsieCrowninshield.com. She continues, "There were opportunities to learn best practices and share among professionals, ways in which to improve employee engagement and retention. The prestigious professional connections that I made from across the country were amazing and I cannot wait to attend this year's event and be part of panel presentations."
Presenters and speakers include c-level executives, human resources staff, recruitment directors, hospital executives, and more. Executives, Clinical Staff, as well as HR and Recruitment Leaders from several organizations are confirmed to present at the conference including: Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, CHI St Luke's Health, NightLight Pediatric Urgent Care, Atrium Health (North Carolina), Harris Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Beaumont Health (Michigan), Valley Baptist Health System and more. Several providers from Texas, California, and Louisiana have already confirmed their attendance as well.
Examples of guest presenters include Dr. Scharmaine Lawson, FNP, FAANP, FAAN, CEO of Advanced Clinical Consultants, who helped New Orleans recover from Hurricane Katrina by being the first medical provider to make house calls in the area (Watch YouTube Video). Now known as 'America's Favorite House Call Nurse Practitioner,' Dr. Lawson will offer inspiration as well as practical insight on what it takes to keep providers and support staff engaged. Dr. Lawson says "this conference will give me an opportunity to share my story with HHHRA | HR Maximizer conference attendees, and inspire them to see how they can make a difference in the communities they serve."
Also, Kim LaMontagne, MBA Contributing Author, Consultant and Survivor, will be presenting on the topic of mental health, with the part entitled, "I'm at Work, but I'm Not OK: Mental Health and Presenteeism in the Workplace." LaMontagne's message is, "It's ok to not be ok. We just need to feel safe enough in the workplace to speak up and ask for help."
Oprah Winfrey agrees that we need to open up the conversation on mental health, she wrote in a recent article that "so many people live in shame, hiding their struggles, not seeking help. We, as a culture, have not fully acknowledged how much help is needed. The only real shame is on us for not being willing to speak openly...We need to start talking, and we need to start now."
LaMontagne says "it's an honor to address the topic of mental health in the workplace. By sharing mental health statistics along with my personal journey of navigating a corporate position (as an award-winning, consistent high performer), while living silencing with mental illness and alcohol use disorder."
Also scheduled to be interviewed at this year's conference are social media influencers Alexis Correa and Fatima Francesca, two registered nurses whose YouTube channels have 250k subscribers and 11 million views. They will share insights on what it takes to engage Gen Y and Millenial staff members.
Attendees will be from hospital systems, physician practices, ASCs, retail health and more. HR Maximizer produced a 1-minute video that highlights feedback from attendees.
