JANESVILLE, Wis., June 12, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hufcor, the global leader in flexible space management and operable partitions, announces the publishing of seven Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all its glass walls products, 640 series operable partitions and steel and aluminum track systems. HUFCOR products are valued as three (3) products per opening (panels and track) under LEED v4.1 and two (2) products per opening, under LEED v 4 for purposes of credit achievement calculation.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a summary report of a product's environmental performance based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), a scientific process which examines the environmental impacts associated with all stages of a product's life, from raw material extraction, through processing, manufacture, distribution, use, repair/maintenance, to end of life (disposal or recycling). EPDs are prepared in accordance with international standards.
"Hufcor's commitment to transparency is evident in its publishing of seven EPDs for its glass walls, operable partitions and track system," said Keith Killpack, Technical Director at SCS Global Services. "SCS performed a life cycle assessment of the products for the EPDs, disclosing the environmental impacts of each product throughout its entire life cycle. The EPDs were independently verified by a third party and are registered in the SCS EPD Program."
EPDs can be viewed on the SCS website.
