Hyatt Regency Dallas Hotel Unveils Landmark Ballroom
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- Dallas’ premiere downtown hotel, Hyatt Regency Dallas, announces the completion of the major renovation to its 30,000-square-foot Landmark Ballroom and entry vestibule, further enhancing its reputation as a premier meetings hotel in the area. Dallas-based Woodbine Development Corporation, the original developer and asset manager of the hotel and adjoining landmark Reunion Tower, managed the project.
The Landmark Ballroom enhancement includes new carpets, light fixtures, banquet furniture, artwork and upgraded technology and audio/visual tools. This remodel is the latest update to the hotel, which recently completed a $50-million renovation to guest rooms and hallways.
Drawing inspiration from the Texas sunset, which is reflected daily on the gleaming hotel façade, the team of EDG Interior Architecture + Design sought to create a dramatic, contemporary space that would serve as a stunning backdrop for both business and social events. The new design features a series of murals and a vibrant carpet that capture the oranges, reds and light blues of the Texas sky. The carpet’s geometric pattern also pays tribute to the iconic geodesic sphere of Reunion Tower, which is adjacent to the space.
“We wanted to weave together the physical and natural elements of the hotel’s setting while reflecting the growing energy of the neighborhood,” said senior designer Cindy Moore, EDG Interior Architecture + Design.
Four stunning ceiling light fixtures illuminate the carpet and murals, which are visible no matter how the space is divided. Adaptable for meetings of any size, new operable dividing walls with custom upholstered panels adjust to create two, three, or four smaller spaces. New banquet linens and chairs reflect the updated surroundings.
In addition, the audio/visual system was updated and now includes state-of-the-art Wi-Fi running at 100Mbps or more and enhanced video capabilities including an ArKaos Video Mapping System.
“The redesigned ballroom perfectly reflects our iconic surroundings while allowing event designers the freedom to make the space their own,” said Fred Euler, general manager of Hyatt Regency Dallas. “With a backdrop as big as the Texas sky, we are eager to see what they come up with.”
Clark Contractors, based in Little Rock, Ark., managed the phased construction project. The Dallas office of Neil Locke & Associates provided FF&E procurement.
