Hyatt Regency Phoenix Hotel Announces Brad Gillespie as its Executive Chef
Phoenix, AZ- (PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- Executive Chef Gillespie is a native of Canada with over 25 years of experience in the industry. He started his career at a young age in his dad’s kitchen and decided to further his passion for cooking by attending the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology where he graduated with a degree in professional cooking. He then went on to receive his Red Seal journeyman certificate in the trade, and after completing his apprenticeship at a prestigious business club in his home town of Calgary in Alberta, Chef Gillespie joined the team at Hyatt Regency Calgary in 2000, where he stayed for seven years. In 2007, he accepted a position in the U.S. at Hyatt Regency O’Hare. Further positions with Hyatt included Greenwich, Clearwater and San Diego.
In 2012, Chef Brad was recognized as Chef of the Year by Hyatt. He has been an active member of chef specialist teams, helping to guide Hyatt’s food and beverage philosophies, as well as assisting in the opening of some of Hyatt’s restaurant concepts including Level One at Hyatt Regency Indianapolis and SHOR restaurants at Hyatt Regency Waikiki and Newport Beach.
When asked about his approach to his craft, Chef Gillespie said, “Food is a very personal thing to people. I strive to look at my food through the lens of the customer, and to try to deliver them a memorable experience while staying true to the core values I hold as a chef. Food should be simple, fresh, interesting and sustainably and responsibly produced, starting with the best ingredients possible, then treating them with respect and showcasing the food in an authentic way.”
