I W Marks Jewelers will award the American Cancer Society a $2,500 donation on behalf of I W Loves Mom Charity Challenge winners Tiziana and Désirée Triolo
HOUSTON, May 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- I W Marks Jewelers will present the $2,500 I W Loves Mom donation to the American Cancer Society of Houston, on behalf of winners Tiziana and Désirée Triolo on June 7th from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Last month, I W Marks Jewelers owners Brad and Joanna Marks invited four notable Houstonians and their families to participate in a charity challenge to celebrate Mother's Day. The Houstonians each picked a charity, while PaperCity Magazine hosted a poll where the public could vote once daily to determine the the winner. After three weeks and over 6,000 votes, mother-daughter duo Tiziana and Désirée Triolo were announced the winners of the $2,500 donation.
Tiziana Ciacciofera (Triolo) and her daughter Désirée Triolo are pillars of fitness and Italian culture in the Houston community. Motivating their friends and followers with a mantra of "Fitness is not about your six pack or your toned body, it's about how you feel on the inside," Tiziana and Désirée continuously inspire others how to be the best version of themselves. To accomplish this goal, Désirée founded the Instagram account @itsdesifit in 2015, which currently reaches over 34,000 followers. Natives of Palermo, Italy, Tiziana and Désirée are passionate about their Italian heritage and are trailblazers of integrating that culture within the melting pot of Houston.
Both Tiziana and Désirée have been avid donors and volunteers for the American Cancer Society of Houston—the local branch of the national organization that funds and conducts cancer research, shares expert information, supports patients, and spreads the word about prevention. After coordinating special events for Houston restaurants Toulouse and Taverna, Tiziana began spearheading the fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society in 2017, with Désirée by her side. Tiziana has also volunteered at MD Anderson's Pediatric Division, donating educational cooking classes and working closely with pediatric cancer patients.
