I W Marks Jewelers Launches I W Loves Mom Charity Challenge with PaperCity Magazine
Just in time for Mother's Day, I W Marks Jewelers invites four notable Houstonians to participate in their fourth annual charity challenge, awarding the winner with $2,500 to donate to the charity of their choice.
HOUSTON, Texas, May 02, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- I W Marks Jewelers, one of Houston's first family-owned and operated jewelry stores, hosts it's fourth annual I W Loves Mom Charity Challenge with PaperCity Magazine.
Since 2016, I W Marks Jewelers owners Brad and Joanna Marks have celebrated Mother's Day by hosting a charity challenge. Each year, the jewelry store invites four notable Houstonians, and their families, to nominate a charity of their choosing. I W Marks introduces the charities and participants to the public, while PaperCity magazine posts a poll where anyone can vote for the winner. The Houstonian with the highest number of votes when the poll ends on Mother's Day is awarded $2,500 from I W Marks to donate to their charity.
I W Loves Mom exemplifies giving, a trait that most moms have in droves. Past winners of the I W Loves Mom Charity Challenge have included KHOU Channel 11's Great Day Houston host Deborah Duncan supporting the Santa Maria Hostel, Houston Texans Defensive End Christian Covington campaigning for Sunshine Kids, and the Vince Wilfork Foundation. While there is only one winner every year, all participants are able to raise awareness for important charities making a difference in the Houston community and beyond.
This year, the I W Loves Mom Charity Challenge participants include: Tiziana and Désirée Triolo—popular Houston fitness gurus and champions for the Houston Chapter of The American Cancer Society; Chad Hedrick—Five time Olympic Medalist—and his wife Lynsey; Amanda Weeks—renowned Houston attorney—and her husband, Houston Texans Long Snapper Jon Weeks; and Austin Waiter—chef de cuisine at Tony's Restaurant.
Tiziana and Désirée Triolo are campaigning for the American Cancer Society, an organization that funds and conducts cancer research, shares expert information, supports patients and helps spread the word about cancer prevention. Chad and Lynsey Hedrick are campaigning for CoreLuv, a charity that spreads the love of Jesus Christ to communities and orphanages around the world by providing orphans with clean water, proper nutrition, healthcare, education, job skills, and a loving home. Amanda and Jon Weeks are campaigning for Child Advocates, a program that provides advocacy to help abused and neglected children leave foster care and find safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. Austin Waiter is campaigning for Donate Life America, an organization that leads its national partners and the Donate Life State Teams to increase the number of donated organs, eyes, and tissues that can save other lives. It hopes that its efforts might help develop a culture where donation is one day seen as a human responsibility.
About the charity challenge, I W Marks owner, Brad Marks, said, "We are so excited to be hosting this event for the fourth year in a row. Watching the community come together to support these wonderful organizations will never get old. We're just grateful to be able to help in whatever way we can."
This year voting runs from April 23rd, 2019 to May 12th, 2019 at PaperCity Magazine. I W Marks will present the check to the winner in early June. To vote or to learn more about this year's participants, visit https://www.papercitymag.com/poll/iw-loves-mom-challenge/.
