IBTS Partners with the League to Provide Local Government Solutions
Ashburn, VA (PRWEB) December 01, 2016 -- The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, announces today that it has partnered with the League of Kansas Municipalities (the League) to offer a suite of services to member cities. The League is leading the way for other municipal leagues to assist their member cities and towns in securing needed services.
The League signed a master agreement with IBTS in November of 2016, allowing interested member cities and towns the opportunity to contract IBTS services on a full time or as-needed basis. Many communities in the State of Kansas are facing challenges with budgets and finding qualified personnel. In a time when cities are experiencing an increase in building activity, existing city staff is starting to retire or relocate for new job opportunities. By partnering with IBTS, cities can share resources and provide quality service to its community for an affordable cost. IBTS assists municipalities of all sizes with a range of needs. Under this agreement, the League’s members gain access to Building Department Services, including planning, zoning, permitting, plan review, inspections, floodplain management stormwater services, property maintenance, accessibility reviews, fire code reviews, and GOVmotusTM permitting software.
Each interested jurisdiction will work directly with IBTS to identify the services needed now and in the future. Once jurisdictions sign a Service Agreement, they are able to request services and pay a fee only when services are performed. This type of flexibility gives jurisdictions the opportunity to provide quick turnaround when needed.
