LUBBOCK, Texas, July 9, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- iCEV's first virtual conference, CTE Inspired, will be hosted on August 4 and 5. Featuring 44 sessions led by more than 90 educational and industry leaders, CTE Inspired will provide innovative tools and methods for teachers to implement in their CTE classrooms. Dr. Marley Morris, CTE Director at Galena Park ISD, will be kicking off CTE Inspired with a dynamic keynote address. Dr. Morris has been involved in CTE for over 20 years. As a CTE Director, Dr. Morris oversees a successful district that currently offers 120 CTE courses. Dr. Morris' session will encompass the current state of CTE and inspire educators and administrators to embrace and address the unique opportunities and challenges affecting CTE in 2020.
Conference sessions will be divided into 11 content specific strands. Seven strands, featuring 21 sessions, will showcase content related to each iCEV subject area. Subject area strands will include educator-led panels and additional sessions focused on a specific topic or theme. A strand designed for CTE directors and administrators will address strategies for accessing funding sources and district-wide implementation of iCEV resources. Another strand will focus on pedagogy concepts and feature best-practices for using iCEV resources in a variety of educational settings.
Industry certification spotlight sessions will be led by five certifying agencies who host their certifications on the iCEV testing platform. Leaders from Elanco, Ducks Unlimited, Southwest Airlines, Express Employment Professionals and Equipment & Engine Training Council will lead sessions to promote their industry certifications and address the need for qualified workers in their respective industries. Additional industry certification sessions will feature educator-led panels addressing concepts such as implementing industry certifications in CTE classes and promoting certification earners.
CTE Inspired will allow attendees to connect and participate through the online portal. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit virtual booths to obtain resources regarding distance learning, iCEV subject areas and industry certifications. Based on overall participation, the top 100 participants will be awarded prizes for their CTE classroom.
