IdeaFestival ® 2013 Announces IF Affiliate Events
Louisville, Kentucky (PRWEB) September 11, 2013 -- IdeaFestival ® (IF), a leading celebration for creative thinkers and the intellectually curious, announces a series of affiliate events taking place before, during and after the festival. These independently produced events enrich the IF experience and allow innovative and forward-thinking groups the opportunity to introduce themselves and their causes to the IF community and beyond. Here is a list of some of the events planned for this year in Louisville:
IF Local Food: The Power of Change will take place on September 23rd at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center. This event is designed to educate and explore the many aspects, opportunities and challenges presented by the concept of local food.
IF Water will take place on September 24th at the Muhammad Ali Center. This second year event welcomes Charles Fishman, author of, The Wal-Mart Effect. Fishman will be discussing his more current work, The Big Thirst, that explores how water runs our world in a host of awe-inspiring ways, yet we take it for granted.
IF Music will take place on September 23rd at The Green Building. Hosted by Gill Holland, Founder of sonaBLAST! Records, this event offers a unique experience to listen to some of the foremost music industry professionals in the business today. The event will culminate with the Louisville Music Awards being held that evening at Headliner’s Music Hall.
Louisville Mini-Maker Faire®, a free family-friendly festival of invention and creativity, will take place on September 28th from noon to six on East Market Street in downtown Louisville.
The week is rounded out with the IF Governor’s Scholars Alumni Nulu Festival, and IF Art: The Boom is Over...Long Live the Art on Saturday, September 28th.
