Il Borro Toscana Wines Featured at the 7th Annual Arnold Schwarzenegger-Westime Charity Night
NEW YORK (PRWEB) June 17, 2019 -- Il Borro was honored to be a part of the 7th Annual Arnold Schwarzenegger-Westime Charity Night on June 15th, hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, in support of After-School All-Stars (ASAS), a leading national provider of year-round, school-based, free, comprehensive after-school programs.
On a night to remember, Il Borro had a dedicated tasting station where the latest vintage of the renowned Rosé del Borro was presented to attending guests while auctioning off an exclusive stay and experience for two at the luxurious Il Borro Relais & Châteaux estate in Tuscany.
Founded in 1992 by Arnold Schwarzenegger, ASAS is a leading national provider of year-round, school-based, free, comprehensive after-school programs. The organization’s mission is to keep children safe and help them succeed in school and in life. Every school day, students in low-income communities have access to free programs that allow them to increase academic readiness, explore career opportunities, implement regular health and wellness habits, practice visual and performing arts, and build STEM skills.
All the money raised at the Arnold Schwarzenegger-Westime Charity Event will support these after-school programs for underserved youth. This is the seventh year that ASAS founder Arnold Schwarzenegger has hosted the event at his home.
About Il Borro
The Il Borro Estate, the wine estate owned by Ferruccio Ferragamo and managed by his son Salvatore Ferragamo (presently CEO of Il Borro) and daughter Vittoria (who oversees the organic vegetable garden and special projects) covers an area of seven hundred hectares in the Upper Valdarno basin in the heart of Tuscany. Of these, 45 hectares are vineyards, 40 olive groves, 180 for growing forage and arable crops, 1 hectare for organic vegetables, and the rest left for forestry. The Estate has been entirely organic since 2015. The 45 hectares of vineyards, in conversion to organic farming since 2012, situated between 300 and 500 meters above sea level, enjoy unique soil and climate conditions that result in high quality wines. Nowadays, native vines, such as Sangiovese, but also varieties that are part of the “Tuscan tradition”, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, cohabit and adapt to the variability of the soil. The Estate is also part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux Association and comprises a completely renovated medieval village where 38 elegant, refined suites are located, two luxury villas and the 18 Aie del Borro suites, ideal for families or groups of friends. In addition to the Relais & Châteaux accommodation, “I Borrigiani”, five charming farmhouses, are run on agritourism lines. There are also two restaurants, l’Osteria del Borro and Il Borro Tuscan Bistro, under the direction of Executive Chef, Andrea Campani, a Spa and the “Wine & Art” Gallery.
