IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Illuminate Education, a leading K–12 student achievement solution, today announced it is one of the first companies to earn the Ed-Fi Alliance Assessment Outcomes API certification, and is the only company to certify with Designation 5 status, meaning their system is able to write category and item-level outcomes while adhering to industry standards.
Ed-Fi Certification is a technical verification confirming that the Illuminate Education platform conforms to an Ed-Fi API standard for assessments, underscoring the company's leadership and commitment to data interoperability. For educators, this means they will now be able to seamlessly combine data from the Illuminate Education assessment platform with student information system data and other sources systems, creating a secure, real-time view of student data.
Illuminate Education introduced Ed-Fi integration pilots with Boston Public Schools and Uncommon Schools earlier this year. Results from these early adopters will support and streamline the interoperability capabilities for Illuminate Education customers going forward.

Founded by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, the Ed-Fi Alliance has developed a data standard and a set of tools, including a set of API's (Application Programming Interfaces) and an ODS (Operational Data Store) free of charge, in order to deliver interoperability at scale to education agencies and ed-tech providers. "For too long, educators and administrators have been gathering and storing data in silos, making data difficult to analyze and use. We provide a standardized way for tech providers to make student data truly useful to impact teaching and learning," said Cesare Tise, strategic partnerships manager at Ed-Fi Alliance.
