ILX Explore the Importance of Project Managers
(PRWEB UK) 22 January 2014 -- It has been reported by Scilly Today in an article titled 'Council Appointing Project Manager To Look After Waste Programme' on November 30 that the Council are employing a project manager to direct the waste management changes currently taking place on the island. It is said that the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has recommended this course of action to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget. Once they grant funding approval to the waste management programme, a project manager will be employed on an initial 12 month contract.
As experts in Project Management training, the training specialists at ILX understand the importance of skilled project managers and the positive impact their involvement can have on the completion of projects. A spokesperson for the company shared their thoughts:
“This recent article highlights how employing a project manager can be particularly beneficial to projects. A skilled project manager overseeing a project can help to ensure that it is completed on time and within budget.
“With this in mind, ensuring that project managers have the necessary expertise and knowledge can be vital to the successful completion of a project. Adopting a Project management method such as PRINCE2®, which is an internationally recognised method for managing a project, helps you work out who should be involved in a project and what they will be responsible for. It gives you a set of processes to work through and explains what information you should be gathering along the way. But PRINCE2, or any other project management method, doesn’t do the work for you; it cannot guarantee your projects will be successful. Good projects, which deliver quality results, on-time and within budget are dependent on the capability of people involved from Project Board down to individual team members. This is why training is so vital; it ensures that those involved have the right knowledge and skills to implement a method effectively, which in turn should lead to successfully managed projects and a positive impact on an organisation.”
