Imagine Learning, the leading provider of Pre-K to grade eight supplemental educational technology, today announced that Imagine Language & Literacy and Imagine Español were named as 2019 SIIA CODiE Award finalists in the Reading/Writing/Literature Instructional Solution for Grades Pre-K to 8 and Best ESL, ELL, or World Language Acquisition Solution categories. Award finalists represent applications, products, and services from developers of educational software, digital content, online learning services and related technologies across the PreK-20 sector.

Imagine Language & Literacy is a strategic, research-based supplemental curriculum that meets students at their own level. With Imagine Language & Literacy, every child receives explicit, targeted instruction within an individualized learning path that continually adjusts to their needs. Over 4,300 engaging activities teach critical language and literacy concepts such as reading and listening comprehension, basic vocabulary, academic language, grammar, phonological awareness, phonics, and fluency. All learners are supported with strategic scaffolds including first-language support in fifteen languages for English learners. Kids love the program because it’s fun and challenging. Educators trust the program because it is differentiated, standards-aligned, rigorous, and effective.

Imagine Español is a highly engaging Spanish literacy program for students from Pre-K through second grade. Imagine Español provides authentic Spanish language and literacy instruction through culturally-relevant learning activities, and exposure to authentic Spanish music, art, and traditions. Students are also strategically exposed to regional accents and information from around the Spanish-speaking world. In Imagine Español, young students experience a balanced approach to literacy that includes phonics instruction and comprehension and vocabulary development, helping students develop critical language skills through exposure to both oral and academic vocabulary.

“We’re thrilled to have Imagine Language & Literacy and Imagine Español named as finalists for the 2019 SIIA CODiE Awards,” shared Bryan Sparks, Co-President of Imagine Learning. “We know the rigorous process the SIIA CODiE Awards committee puts in place to vet the value of edtech programs, and we’re honored to be recognized by the judges for the quality and efficacy of our educational programs.”

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries and have recognized product excellence for more than thirty years. The awards offer seventy-six categories that are organized by industry focus of education technology and business technology. Imagine Language & Literacy and Imagine Español were honored as two of 139 finalists across the thirty-two education technology categories.

“The 2019 CODIE Award finalists represent the finest in innovation and creativity in educational technology,” said President Jeff Joseph at SIIA. “These breakthrough products are opening doors for learners of all ages by developing and utilizing new technologies to respond to diverse student and educator needs.”

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program. Educators and administrators serve as judges and conduct the first-round review of all education nominees. Their scores determine the SIIA CODiE Award finalists, and SIIA members then vote on the finalist products. The scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners.

Winners will be announced during a CODiE Award Celebration at the Ed Tech Industry Conference & CODiE Awards in San Francisco on June 11. Details about each finalist are listed at https://www.siia.net/codie/2019-Finalists
