ImpactTulsa Names Executive Director
Tulsa, Okla. (PRWEB) August 29, 2016 -- ImpactTulsa announced today the hiring of educator and nonprofit administrator Kathy Seibold, Ed.D. as Executive Director. ImpactTulsa aligns community partners and 15 school districts across the Tulsa area to work collectively on improving outcomes to ensure a high-quality education for all students. Currently, ImpactTulsa initiatives range from early childhood to college enrollment with initiatives to expand pre-k enrollment, encourage FAFSA completion, and identify and spread best practices in schools.
“The search committee is very grateful that ImpactTulsa was able to attract such a strong pool of qualified candidates,” said Frank Murphy, a member of the ImpactTulsa leadership council and chair of the selection committee. “Dr. Seibold rose to the top of the candidate pool due to her passionate and visionary leadership in the field of education, her proven organizational development and management skills, and her deep understanding of collective impact. These attributes, along with her experience with the United Way and Tulsa Public Schools, convinced the search committee she is the right person to take ImpactTulsa to the next level. As we look to what will be a challenging year in education, it is crucial to have someone like Dr. Seibold at the helm.”
Seibold brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, fundraising, legislative briefings and community partner engagement. She most recently worked with Tulsa Public Schools as Executive Director for Student and Family Support to coordinate counseling and social services, discipline supports, family engagement and community involvement.

It has been tremendously gratifying over the past several years to see ImpactTulsa bring together schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses, civic entities, and individuals to set goals that ensure all students have the opportunity for success,” said Seibold. “I am excited to lead the organization into the next phase of the work. Collective impact will remain the central approach. Only through working together can we truly create a seamless system that supports all students and families.”
Seibold also previously served as Vice President of the Tulsa Area United Way, Assistant Vice President for Campus Affairs at OU-Tulsa and in various K-12 and post-secondary teaching positions. She holds a doctorate in higher education from Oklahoma State University.
“Dr. Seibold knows firsthand the successes and challenges our school districts face when it comes to providing a quality education for our children,” said Kathy Taylor, founding ImpactTulsa CEO. “Her knowledge of Tulsa and her history with ImpactTulsa will also be beneficial as we work to meet our 2019 goals. As a founding member of the organization, Dr. Seibold understands the urgency in creating initiatives that involve the entire birth to career pipeline.”
The hiring of Dr. Seibold comes on the heels of previous Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor transitioning to the role of chair of the leadership council. During the search process, Dr. Cathy Burden, retired Union Public Schools Superintendent, served as interim CEO. She will continue to support ImpactTulsa as an educational advisor.
