WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., Aug. 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) recently announced its keystone fundraiser for 2020, highlighted by a 2020 Corvette Stingray giveaway. The organization, located in Watkins Glen, has a mission of preserving the history of motorsports. Each year, their mission is supported by donations from members and fans, particularly those who donate to win a sports car.
According to the IMRRC website, visitors are automatically entered to win by making a donation. In addition to the 2020 Corvette Stingray, the grand prize winner will also be eligible for three additional prizes including one hour of track time at Watkins Glen International; two 2021 memberships to watch NASCAR, IMSA, and more from the Jack Daniels Club at Watkins Glen International; and a two-day performance driving school at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Las Vegas (including a two-night stay, breakfast and lunch).
The most coveted prize, the 2020 Corvette Stingray, is described as having a Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic exterior with Adrenaline Red, Mulan leather seating surfaces; Z51 Performance Package; 6.2L V8 DI engine with 495 horsepower; and 8-speed dual clutch transmission.
The mission of the International Motor Racing Research Center is to collect, preserve and share the global history of motorsports with all racing fans from the casual spectator to the serious researcher. Currently, the center is closed to the public due to health and safety, but exhibitions may be found on display at the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce and the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, NY.
"It is very important that the history of motorsports is preserved so that we can pay proper tribute to those that came before us," said Helio Castroneves, 2020 Membership Spokesperson for the organization. "The IMRRC is leading the way to ensure that we do just that."
