Most families have a strong reaction when they arrive on campus, and we wanted to find a way to create that experience, and teach them about who we are, all while keeping everyone safe.

With the number of events being held on Zoom, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School (CH-CH) in Waltham, MA, knew they had to think outside of the box if they wanted to host an on-campus event to teach people about their independent day and boarding school for grades 9-12. The result… A Drive-Thru Open House.
“We have a beautiful campus that looks incredible with the fall foliage,” said Lisa Pelrine, Director of Enrollment Management. “Most families have a strong reaction when they arrive on campus, and we wanted to find a way to create that experience, and teach them about who we are, all while keeping everyone safe.”
The CH-CH Drive-Thru Open House allows families to take a self-guided drive through the School’s 42-acre campus. With stops along the way where visitors scan QR codes with their smartphone and watch videos to see inside school buildings, meet students and teachers, and learn about school programming.
“We’ve had to think creatively in all areas of school this year,” said Head of School, Lance Conrad, Ed.D. “From the creation of a hybrid, or blended, learning model to fully support 80% of our students in-person and 20% online, to the launch of a host family program for our boarding students, we are re-imagining everything. This includes thinking differently about how we introduce new families to campus and our amazing college prep school.”
CH-CH will be hosting a final Drive-Thru Open House on November 8th, from 1-3PM. Visitors will learn about the newly opened visual and performing arts center, academics, athletics, student life and boarding programs, after-school co-curricular activities, support programs, and more.
