Baltimore, Maryland (PRWEB) August 06, 2013 -- Infinite Biomedical Technologies, LLC (IBT), a client company in Baltimore City’s Emerging Technology Center (ETC), announced the release of its MORPH™ technology – an innovative new controlling technology for upper limb myo-electric prosthetics that interfaces with most commercially available prosthetic hand and wrists on the market, and is fully compatible with legacy switching methodologies. There are over 100,000 people in the US living with an upper limb amputation who can now potentially benefit from near perfect reliability in the switching of hand and wrist functions.

The award winning MORPH™ technology is unique in its full integration with wireless RFID tagging and Bluetooth interfacing technologies. The user no longer has to use EMG triggers to switch between functions; instead, RFID tags, which can be placed essentially anywhere, allow for convenient switching of functions. MORPH™ can also be used to turn off EMG inputs in order to maintain a constant grip and can be reprogrammed via a Bluetooth connection using a simple user interface.
