Ingenious Construction Wins Bisnow Shark Tank Competition
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) April 26, 2017 -- Ingenious Construction (iCON), a local start-up in the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) tech field, won Bisnow’s CRE Shark Tank, beating out the competitors and winning an advertising package, but even more importantly gaining numerous sales within the event.
Nick Carter, Ingenious Construction’s Founder and CEO, presented on how iCON’s mobile, cloud-based platform allows professionals in construction management to integrate data and tasks to reduce inefficiencies and cut costs. Because the platform relies on real-time data and cross-team collaboration, it can manage tasks from implementation to completion of a project.
iCON’s suite of apps can integrate tasks such as making bids, managing employee schedules, and organizing payroll. “We saw a lot of fragmentation of information in the industry,” said Carter. “And instead of fixing each piece separately, our software aims to bring fragmented information together.”
For instance, iCON’s app for Owners/Developers can manage projects and bids, change orders, and make budget reports. Its app for Architects can track costs, manage time, and collaborate between modules.
Although iCON was officially founded in February 2016, its small team of developers and analysts have been secretly working on its suite of apps for two years. Carter’s presentation at the Bisnow Shark Tank was the first major public event showcasing the team’s work.
Carter said he and his team hope to use the Shark Tank win as a chance to grow and reach new clients. “We are looking forward to disrupting this industry and getting our product out to the market,” said Carter. “Right now, we are focused on our next events at RSA and BuiltWorlds to show even more people. It's all about the excitement and getting us out there.”
