Veteran Dow Jones editor and longtime real estate journalist will lead Inman's newsroom, subscription editorial products and Inman Connect programming
TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Inman has named Lucy Cohen Blatter Editor-in-Chief, appointing a veteran journalist and newsroom leader with more than 15 years of experience covering residential real estate, business and luxury markets in New York and around the world.
Cohen Blatter will lead Inman's newsroom and daily news operation, oversee its subscription editorial products and help shape editorial programming across Inman Connect.
She joins Inman from Dow Jones, where she has served as Editorial Director of Custom Content since 2021, leading editorial strategy and execution for Mansion Global Custom Studios and developing new editorial products and experiences, including the Mansion Global HomeShuffle game and Mansion Global Boutique.
Previously, Cohen Blatter served as Managing Editor of Mansion Global, where she was second-in-command of the global newsroom and oversaw daily editorial operations, hiring and budgets across the publication. She also served as Managing Editor of Penta, Barron's publication for high-net-worth readers, directing its editorial calendar, assignments, contributors and production.
Her career in residential real estate journalism began well before Mansion Global. From 2010 to 2017, Cohen Blatter worked with BrickUnderground as Senior Contributing Editor and Interim Managing Editor, helping shape the publication's editorial strategy and multimedia expansion while reporting breaking news, investigations and weekly columns on New York residential real estate.
Her reporting and editing experience also includes The Wall Street Journal, Crain's New York Business, The Real Deal, amNewYork and The New York Sun. "Lucy has spent years inside the stories, companies and market forces that shape residential real estate," said Tom Bohn, Chief Executive Officer of Inman. "She understands the speed and rigor required of a daily newsroom, and she understands the reader on the other side of that reporting. She is exactly the kind of editorial leader we want guiding Inman into its next chapter."
Cohen Blatter's appointment reinforces the editorial independence Bohn has made central to Inman's newsroom. In his recent op-ed, "We can't be bought, and we won't be bullied," Bohn reaffirmed Inman's commitment to reporting independently on the companies, organizations and leaders shaping the industry, regardless of commercial relationships or outside pressure. "Lucy has spent years inside the stories, companies and marketforces that shape residential real estate. She understands the speed and rigor required of a daily newsroom, and she understands the reader on the other side ofthat reporting. She is exactly the kind of editorial leader we want guiding Inman into its next chapter."

Cohen Blatter said her early priorities will include strengthening Inman's daily news reporting, expanding the depth and value of its subscription coverage and creating a closer connection between the newsroom and the conversations happening on Inman Connect stages.
"I'm honored and excited to join Inman at such a transformative time for both the real estate industry and the media landscape", said Cohen Blatter. "Readers trust Inman for its uncompromised editorial quality and sharp industry insights. I look forward to building on that rich foundation and sharpening our edge—strengthening our breaking news coverage, expanding our suite of broker tools and ensuring our content remains indispensable to real estate professionals. We have a lot of exciting plans in store for our readers and we can't wait to get started."
Cohen Blatter's hire comes as Inman continues the rollout of its 1,000 Storytellers initiative, the Inman Media Network and the anticipated launch of Inman 2.0, overhauling the Inman.com user experience and reimagining the way Inman's audiences consume real estate news, participate in events and engage with the broader Inman community.
Her addition to the leadership team follows a series of senior hires under Bohn, including media veteran Constance Sayers as Chief Operating Officer and longtime real estate leader Holly Meyer Lucas as Chief Marketing Officer.
