Innovation and Program Expansion Headline 2019 NFCC Connect Agenda
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) September 26, 2019 -- The National Foundation for Credit Counseling® (NFCC®) hosted its 54th annual conference, NFCC Connect, in Arlington, VA, September 16 - 18, featuring leaders and consumer finance experts who addressed critical issues impacting American consumers on matters important to the financial service sector. Topics of discussion included innovation in debt management solutions, expanding homeownership opportunities for underserved populations, the regulatory environment around consumer protection issues, financial challenges small business owners are facing, and much more.
The theme of this year’s conference was “2020: A Vision for the Financial Health of American Consumers” and it brought together more than 200 agency executives, credit counselors and educators, creditor partners, and government representatives and stakeholders from around the world. Featured speakers in Arlington included the following experts:
Rebecca Steele, NFCC President and CEO, addressing the rapid pace of innovation change in the financial service sector;
Stephanie Moulton, PhD., presenting results from the second phase of research on the long-term impact of financial counseling through the Sharpen Your Financial Focus program;
Tom Pahl, Associate Director, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), speaking about the role of regulators in the debt repayment landscape.
