BERRYVILLE, Ark., July 8, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Kerusso, the world's largest Christian apparel company, awarded scholarships to two outstanding high school graduates this month.
The $500 Larry Wicker Vocational Education Scholarship is granted to a student who has excelled in vocational studies and plans to continue their formal vocational education after graduation.
This scholarship was created to honor Kerusso Founder & CEO Vic Kennett's favorite teacher: Larry Wicker. Throughout his career, Mr. Wicker had an overwhelming impact on the lives of hundreds of students, Vic included. Larry was tough and sincere — a man who cared deeply about kids, always making sure his students stayed on track.
This year's recipient, MaKenna Griffin, had many achievements throughout her academic career including being a member of Future Business Leaders of America and the Renaissance Program. She plans to attend NWACC in Bentonville, AR.
The Kerusso Business and Ministry Scholarship is granted to a student who has kept a minimum of 3.0 GPA and has been a member of extracurricular activities appropriate for leadership development, with plans to further their education in business, ministry, fine arts, drama, or design.
This year's Kerusso Business and Ministry Scholarship was awarded to Jessie Hernandez.
Throughout his academic career, Jessie maintained a GPA of 3.7. He is a member of the Renaissance Program, National Honors Society, a member of Arkansas Boys' State, and served as an Arkansas Delegate for National Student Leadership Congress in Washington, D.C. Jessie also served in children's church at Church on the Hill.
Jessie plans to attend Arkansas Tech University with a major in Music Education.
