SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Intercept Music, the groundbreaking marketing platform enabling artists to promote and distribute their music online, announced today the addition of the Brand Ambassador program to its range of services. The company launches the program with its first three, genre-focused Brand Ambassadors: Tanto Irie (reggae), Thom Russo (Latin) and Rob Wagman (contemporary Christian). With their deep experience and impeccable credentials in their respective music segments, the Ambassadors will serve as liaison between the company and musicians, to both develop new business and share their expertise with emerging artists. The announcement was made by Tod Turner, Intercept Music's chief executive officer.
"Since its inception more than 100 years ago, the music industry has resisted a 'one size fits all' solution to marketing music," said Ralph Tashjian, co-founder and chairman of Intercept Music. "Each genre has its own legacy and key players. With our Ambassadors, we offer new and emerging artists a custom-tailored solution to promote and distribute their music, backed by people who understand their medium like no one else."
Intercept Music Brand Ambassadors are hand-picked music professionals, experts and influencers within their genre, who have built a wealth of knowledge through years of hands-on experience. Each Ambassador has achieved renown within the industry, and wants to give back by sharing their wisdom with up-and-coming artists seeking genre-specific guidance.
Thom Russo comes to Intercept Music as a highly successful producer, mixer, songwriter and composer. He holds 16 Grammy Awards, with a record 13 of them being in the Latin genre. Thom has worked with the biggest Latin stars as well as projects with global artists including Jay-Z, Michael Jackson, Prince, Johnny Cash, Babyface, Eric Clapton, System of a Down, and many others, in addition to countless film and TV projects.
Tanto Irie joins Intercept Music having served for 17 years as the renowned host of radio show Reggae Runnins on South Florida's WHQT Hot 105. Irie helped to launch the recording careers of many major reggae artists in his native Jamaica until 1986, when he moved to the United States. He began sharing his love of reggae in the U.S. by booking, producing and hosting concerts throughout the Southwest. The Reggae Runnins radio show debuted in Texas, then made its way to the Big Apple before finding its home in Florida.
Rob Wagman is a highly diverse music playlist curator, radio programmer, talent coach and consultant who took the Christian Contemporary format by storm in 2013, first as PM Drive talent on KFSH, 95.9 The Fish in Los Angeles, then as programmer for the WAY-FM network, based in Nashville. Artists Natalie Grant, Jonny Diaz and Jason Ingram have credited Wagman publicly as the catalyst for their recent airplay and hit song successes.
"Rob Wagman has a long career of finding hit songs," said CEO Turner. "Tanto Irie has real personal relationships with Reggae's biggest stars, and Thom Russo is a master of the final product. All these talents are real benefits for artists seeking visibility for themselves and their music, rising above the noise and cutting through in a heavily saturated digital music environment."
