International Open Access Week 2018: An Attempt at Making Chemistry and Biochemistry Research Reach the Farthest Corners of the World
SINGAPORE & LONDON (PRWEB) October 30, 2018 -- In driving the innovation towards the future, it ought to be recalled that chemistry and biochemistry are not stagnant sciences, but are steadily evolving disciplines like physics and biology- interdependent on discoveries in other scientific areas. In the long term, these disciplines are going to create materials with extraordinary properties, yet undreamed of, which will dramatically improve research, healthcare, environmental monitoring and transport. For better or for worse, everything is chemical!
Chemistry and Biochemistry are often referred to as the central sciences because they connect together physics and mathematics, biology and medicine, and the earth and environmental sciences. Knowledge of the nature of chemicals and chemical processes provides insights into a variety of physical and biological phenomena. A significant knowledge of chemistry and biochemistry is often required in professions as diverse as medicine, pharmacology, molecular biology, biotechnology, toxicology, waste management, art conservation, and forensic science .
The best course of action for increasing the visibility and usage of research works online is open access. The open access mode of publishing has increased the amount of information that is readily accessible and enhanced the transparency, openness, productivity in the exploration procedures, closer linkages among research and development- in regions including open arrangement and open administrations and in courses imperative for monetary development. SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition) is a global coalition committed to making open access the default format for research publications. In order to encourage the open access movement, SPARC initiated the International Open Access week, which has successfully completed its 10 years this year. The theme for the 2018 open access week (22nd to 28th October, 2018) is, “International Open Access Week is "Designing Equitable Foundations for Open Knowledge." Dr. Srinubabu Gedela, the CEO of OMICS International stated that this is a key opportunity for all members of the community to take action for keeping up this momentum of the open access movement.
Omics International provides an esteemed platform for sharing knowledge and innovations on the latest trends in Chemical Sciences across the world. Currently, the company publishes 49 journals related to Chemistry and Biochemistry. Its impressive portfolio includes some very prominent journals like Biochemistry & Analytical Biochemistry, Chemical Sciences Journal, Journal of Chemical Biology & Therapeutics, Journal of Organic & Inorganic Chemistry, and Modern Chemistry & Applications.
In order to utilize this invaluable chance of connecting with global research, Omics International celebrated the Open Access Week with much fanfare.
