International Society of Sustainability Professionals Announces Additions to Board of Directors
Hartford, CT (PRWEB) March 31, 2015 -- The International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) has announced that four new members have been elected to the ISSP Board of Directors.
The newest members of the ISSP Board of Directors are:
- Rob Andrejewski, the Outreach & Education Coordinator at the Office for Sustainability, University of Virginia, which supports university-wide collaborative governance, leadership, and implementation of sustainability.
- Alejandro Florenzano, the Research Manager for Fundación Chile’s Center for Sustainable Production. The Center explores how to promote and strengthen life cycle assessment (LCA) and metrics-based sustainability.
- Erik Foley, the Managing Director at Penn State's Sustainability Institute, which serves all 24 Penn State campuses and advances sustainability in teaching, research, outreach and operations.
- Simon Harvey, an accredited Senior Advisor for the Natural Step (TNS), Chair of TNS in New Zealand, and a director of BusinessLAB, a forward thinking consultancy that facilitates collaborative strategy solutions for clients seeking a more participatory approach to strategic planning.

Rob Andrejewski is an educator, writer, and facilitator who has worked in settings ranging from the backcountry to the front of the classroom. Regardless of the environment, his aim is to bring awareness to today's biggest issues and to connect people with their unique ability to respond to these challenges. For much of the last decade he has worked in higher education sustainability with a focus on outreach, education, and sustainability planning. Rob received his PhD from Penn State in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (RPTM) in 2011. His research focused on the role of nature connection and outdoor play on environmentally responsible behavior.
Alejandro Florenzano specializes in environmental science, life cycle sustainability assessment, standards, and innovation for sustainability. He holds a civil engineering degree and a MSc degree in environmental engineering. He has worked in several multiple-stakeholder studies and projects aimed at driving sustainability across the supply chain, including retailers, companies (small, medium and large), NGOs, government and international organizations. Alejandro’s work has covered different sectors, with a strong focus on the food and agriculture sector.
Erik Foley is adjunct faculty in the Penn State Smeal School of Business and is also the Principal of Dais Consulting Group, a sustainability-focused consultancy. Erik has served as the co-chair of the Big Ten Sustainability Group, President of the Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium (PERC), on the American Council on Renewable Energy's Higher Education Committee, on the ABCD Economic Development Task Force and within Penn State's president-appointed University Sustainability Council which drafted the university's first Sustainability Strategic Plan.
Simon Harvey believes sustainability and good business practice go hand-in-hand. He’s a recognized management consultant, strategist and keynote speaker in the field of organizational sustainability. Simon’s recent projects include developing and delivering the Adding Sustainable Value strategy2action training program, a partnership with Otago Polytechnic that delivers tangible business outcomes to align core business activities with sustainable practice, while earning tertiary qualifications.
