Neptune Beach, FL (PRWEB) May 23, 2017 -- International Student Insurance (ISI) today announced their new partnership with RAINN to educate and inform international students about sexual assault. RAINN, the nation’s leading expert on sexual violence, will work together with ISI to develop a free multimedia training program designed to raise awareness among international students about common sexual assault issues. The turn-key training package will be provided at no cost to schools, and includes topics such as: what is consent, staying safe, being an active bystander, and what to do if an assault occurs. This unique, one-hour training program will be available for the start of the 2017-2018 school year.
“While there are a lot of resources available to educate students on the topic of sexual assault, there is very little that is geared specifically to international students,” commented Keith Clausen, President of ISI. “We have been working hard to develop resources to help the international education community, and we’re delighted to partner with RAINN to elevate the level of training we can provide to schools and advisors on sexual assault for international students.”
Designed to be presented to any size group of international students, the training package will feature video content, interactive activities, and a fully developed presentation so that trainers can comfortably guide their students through these culturally sensitive topics. The kit will also include a proctor’s guide, simplifying the delivery process, as well as take-away literature for each participant so that the conversation can continue after the training.
“Sexual violence affects hundreds of thousands of people a year. For more than 20 years, RAINN has worked to support those affect by sexual assault domestically and abroad,” said Kati Lake, Vice President of Consulting Services at RAINN. “We are dedicated to working with campuses to better their practices related to the education about, and response to, sexual violence. That includes providing targeted training with ISI that addresses the unique challenges facing students studying overseas and those that support them at home.
