Neptune Beach, Florida (PRWEB) November 25, 2015 -- InternationalStudent.com, a leading international education marketing company serving students and schools worldwide, is proud to announce the winners of the 10th annual Travel Video Contest. For the past ten years current and aspiring international students from around the globe have submitted compelling, funny and emotionally-charged videos describing a proposed study abroad experience or a trip they would like to take, regardless of the destination, cost or timeframe. Each year the Contest concludes and winners announced on the final day of International Education Week.
“Reconfirming our belief in international education, this year’s submissions have been absolutely remarkable. Not only have we received more than 90 films, but the overall quality and content of each submission was extremely high this year,” commented Bryanna Davis, Marketing Manager at InternationalStudent.com. “It’s impossible to have a great film without a story to tell and high-quality technology, but when students are fueled by a strong passion for traveling and a cash prize, the results can be breathtaking.”
The staff of InternationalStudent.com reviewed each submission and selected 13 Contest Finalists to join the Viewer’s Choice winner in the final round of competition. To rank each of the Finalists an elite panel of 9 judges were hand selected by InternationalStudent.com, including two previous Travel Contest winners and an array of leaders within the world of international education. Each of the judges ranked the Finalists submissions based on creativity, originality, and overall quality.
This year’s first place winner was perhaps one of the more heartfelt submission of this year’s Contest, “My Second Chance at Life” tells the inspiring story of a young student whose life was forever altered by an automobile accident, resulting in the death of a close friend. Choosing to use his second chance at life to travel the world, Amar Chaniago intends to use the $4,000 grand prize to study psychology in Australia. In addition to the cash prize, Chaniago will also be given a blog to record his travels on InternationalStudent.com.
This year’s second place winner and recipient of a $500 prize is Michelle Leclercq. Her video “Place Yourself Where You Want to Be” tells the touching story of an aspiring musician who had the opportunity to visit the U.S. as part of a Work and Travel Program, yet her true dream is to attend music school in California.
Winner of the third place and a $250 cash prize, Léa Kriger-Bécourt tells her dynamic story through brightly colored pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, appropriately titled “The Missing Piece.” Hand drawn onto each piece, the pictures display her interests, past travel experiences and future aspirations, which include moving to the Mexico to experience life in a biological community farm.
Chosen by popular vote and automatically advanced to the Finalist round, this year’s Viewer’s Choice winner, Murtaza Ibrahimi, has chosen to dedicate his life to help his home country. The unfailing passion for both music and for the country of Afghanistan he exhibited in his video “The Flowers of Success” earned him the $1,000 prize.
“We couldn’t be more proud of this year’s submissions, finalists or the overall 2015 Travel Contest winner,” stated Davis. “We couldn’t be more pleased to know that the prize money will be used to help fund their education abroad, or put towards future travel expenses.”
