Supporting current and aspiring international students is our goal and we’re ecstatic that our Travel Video Contest continues to grow by leaps and bounds each year.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (PRWEB) September 07, 2018
Envisage International Corporation, a leader in the field of international education marketing for students and academic institutions alike, is proud to announce the launch of its annual InternationalStudent.com Travel Video Contest.
Now in its thirteenth year, the contest offers current and aspiring international students the opportunity to showcase their creative and storytelling skills while competing for a variety of prizes, including a $4,000 Grand Prize and $1,000 Viewers’ Choice Award.
“The announcement of the Travel Video contest always creates a ripple of excitement throughout our company,” explains Bryanna Davis, Marketing Manager at InternationalStudent.com. “Each year brings a fresh set of students all seeking to better themselves through an international education, and this contest is our way of supporting these students and their academic initiatives.”
To enter the contest, current international students need to create a video specifically for the InternationalStudent.com Travel Video Contest that is less than four minutes in length and describes any trip they would like to take; aspiring international students need to describe a proposed study abroad experience.
The Viewers’ Choice Award winner, chosen by popular vote of visitors to the site, will automatically become a Finalist, and the staff of InternationalStudent.com will determine the remaining Finalists.
“The Grand Prize and runner-up winners will be determined by a panel of eight judges comprised of international educators, supporters and former Travel Video Contest winners,” explained Davis. “Each judge on this unique and esteemed panel was hand selected for their extensive travel experience, as well as appreciation and role within the world of higher education. It’s truly our honor to have our judges as part of the contest.”
The judging panel consists of Matt Brattin (2006 Travel Video Contest winner), Sandy Florez (2009 Travel Video Contest winner), Troy Peden (founder of GoAbroad.com), Mina Morgan (President of The Language Company), Ruth Kamona (University Director for International Student and Scholar Services at the City University of New York), Dana Brolley (Director of International Recruitment at Seattle University), Karin Lee (LDC Leadership Cultivation Subcommittee member and Mississippi State Rep to NAFSA Region VII), and Sherif Barsoum (Associate Vice President for Global Services at New York University).
Contest Finalists will be announced the week of November 7, 2018. The Grand Prize and runner-up winners will be announced November 16, 2018, designed to coincide with the last day of International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education to help promote and encourage international education.
“Supporting current and aspiring international students is our goal at InternationalStudent.com and we’re ecstatic that our Travel Video Contest continues to grow by leaps and bounds each year,” explains Davis. “To date, we’ve received video submissions from students in well over 80 countries and six continents.”
Entrants must be at least 18 years old and complete an online entry form to qualify. The submission deadline is October 9, 2018. All potential contestants are encouraged to read additional Contest details at http://www.internationalstudent.com/contest/.
