LOS ANGELES, June 29, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Summer camps look a little different this year. But, for parents juggling work, summer activities, and more, Peace to the Planet has the answer. The global peace & child empowerment organization is bringing summer camp home through the free, virtual Heal The Planet enrichment program designed to engage kids in activities and conversations about race, humanity, environmental responsibility and global leadership.
The five-week Heal the Planet program will help cultivate a responsibility for self, community and planet.
From July 16 through Aug. 20, 2020, children 8-12 years old will participate in an empowering curriculum based on Peace To The Planet's flagship Peace Club program. The dual online/offline curriculum includes:
- Live peer engagement via Zoom to discuss current global events and explore the meaning of peace. Live sessions will be held at 10 a.m. EST on July 16, July 23, Aug. 6 and Aug. 20.
- Creative activities to illustrate human impact on the earth and teach appreciation for diversity and environmental stewardship.
- Storytelling and virtual interviews with Peace Heroes, including Peace to the Planet Founder Pat Montandon and President of the Board of Tanimoto Peace Foundation & Hiroshima Survivor Koko Kondo.
- Kid-led initiatives to address climate change at-home, online and in their communities.
- Completion ceremony, open to family and friends to honor the work of the young peacemakers.
