InventHelp, founded in 1984 in Pittsburgh, is attempting to submit this idea, the Rain Shade, to applicable companies for their consideration.

PITTSBURGH..."When opening a car door in a rainstorm, rain drops inevitably get the interior wet," said an inventor from Los Angeles, Calif. "In order to avoid this common problem, I came up with this convenient idea. Now you will remain dry while stepping into and out of your vehicle."

He developed the patent-pending RAIN SHADE to provide shelter when the door of a vehicle is opened during a rainstorm. It prevents the interior from getting wet. The accessory enables the user to remain dry and ready an umbrella before stepping out of the vehicle. It also allows the umbrella to be closed and stored away while remaining dry when entering the vehicle. The device shields the user from bright sunlight as well. Also, it helps elderly or disabled people get into and out of a vehicle in a quicker, easier manner. Furthermore, it is adaptable for use with any vehicle.

The original design was submitted to the Los Angeles office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
