Inventor and InventHelp Client Develops Mobility Device Safety Accessory (MIS-218)

Founded in 1984 in Pittsburgh, InventHelp is submitting the STROLLITE to applicable companies for their review.

An inventor from Black River Falls, Wis., has developed the patent-pending STROLLITE, a safety device for wheelchair users.

“I witnessed some elders trying to maneuver a rough path at dusk while using canes. I saw this as a potentially dangerous situation and thought of my idea as a solution to this problem,” said the inventor.

The STROLLITE provides users with enhanced visibility, thus ensuring a safer means of navigating their mobility device in the dark.

This will offer peace of mind for wheelchair and other mobility device users. It will also allow users to feel more confident when venturing outdoors in the dark or in inclement weather. The STROLLITE may help prevent accidents on the roadway due to a driver’s inability to see a wheelchair and its occupant. In addition to mobility device users, parents pushing strollers will also benefit from this safety device.

The original design was submitted to the Minneapolis office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
