InventHelp Inventor Designs Nasogastric (NG) Tube Accessory (DVR-824)

Founded in 1984, InventHelp is attempting to submit the Tube Safe to applicable companies in the hopes of a good faith review.

“I work as a registered nurse and I was caring for a patient with a feeding tube,” said an inventor, from Thornton, Colo. “Every night, the tube was either pulled out or it fell out and I would have to reinsert it. I thought there should be a better way to keep the NG tube in place, so I invented this.” She invented the Tube Safe.

The Tube Safe ensures that a nasogastric (NG) tube remains securely in place. In doing so, it helps to reduce the incidence of a NG tube being pulled out or falling out. As a result, it helps prevent the pain associated with repositioning a NG tube and it enhances safety and comfort. The invention features a safe and effective design that is convenient and easy to use so it is ideal for use by medical facilities, assisted living communities and individuals who require liquid nutritional supplements. Additionally, the Tube Safe could reduce delays in the patient’s feeding or administration of medication and the invention is producible in design variations. It saves money by not requiring additional X-rays to check for correct placement.

The inventor described the invention design. “My design increases patient comfort and safety because it ensures that a NG tube remains in place.” The idea is patent pending.

The original design was submitted to the Denver office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
