South Carolina's Michael Letts speaks out on the tragic shootings in Sacramento over the weekend, and voices support for the local police.
COLUMBIA, S.C., April 4, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In response to the tragic shootings in Sacramento over the weekend, resulting in six deaths and 12 injuries, InVest USA CEO, Michael Letts, announced his organization will make available active shooter vests and riot gear to protect police in what has been an increasing violent society.
Letts stated, "We have seen a 39% increase in violent crime since last year, according to FBI statistics."
Letts says that Sacramento Police are currently investigating the matter, asking for assistance to help identify suspects, as the shootings seem to have stemmed from a large fight between several individuals.
"We are aware of a social media video that appears to show an altercation that preceded the shooting," the officers noted, encouraging anyone who finds additional video capturing the altercation—or anything surrounding it—to send it to the Sacramento police department.
This is the second shooting to occur in Sacramento in several weeks, with the previous one taking place at a church that left several people dead.
After what took place, Gov. Gavin Newsom calls the shooting "yet another horrendous act of gun violence," and that local law enforcement are closely monitoring the situation with assistance from witnesses.
In full agreement is Michael Letts, who is also founder and chairman of First Responders Academy. He voiced his sorrow in the loss of lives, and asked for everyone to assist in supporting the Sacramento Police to find justice.

He also believes that it's vital for police to receive more support in a situation such as this. "We must take action to support, fund, and equip our law enforcement/first responders – America's true heroes!"
