The certification was achieved this past December and is the highest level of security in the electronic payments industry.

The PCI Data Security Standard is comprised of the five major payment networks including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB. The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council put together this global standard, which every business that wants to store, process and transmit cardholder data must comply with.

PCI compliance is important in the payments industry for many reasons. The compliance piece consists of six control objectives including: building and maintaining a secure network, protecting cardholder data, maintaining a vulnerability management program, implementing strong access control measures, regularly monitoring and testing networks and maintaining an information security policy. In today’s climate, IRIS CRM makes it a priority to invest into its infrastructure and new features to ensure that they are staying ahead of the marketplace and operating securely.

To become PCI certified, IRIS CRM went through a stringent Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) audit. The audit results in a Report on Compliance (RoC), which includes a detailed review of IRIS’ network environment, security practices and data management processes. The QSA delivered an attestation of compliance which determined that IRIS meets the requirements to formally validate as a PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider.
