ISA Foundation Grants Will Help 33 Nonprofits Serve People Around the World

GILBERT, Ariz., July 7, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- With projects ranging from nourishing people in Kenya to providing emergency medical assistance to Navajo Nation residents, the 33 nonprofits who received the latest ISA Foundation grants will make a significant impact on communities worldwide. In its fourth round of funding, the foundation awarded grants totaling $838,527 to the U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

Operated by global health and wellness company Isagenix International, the ISA Foundation focuses on healthy nutrition and support for underserved children, wellness education for all, aid for those affected by natural disasters, and the pursuit of racial equality.

The 33 recipients in the latest grant cycle include:

• SERV International: Based in Canton, Georgia, SERV uses food as a catalyst to completely transform lives. Its vision is to physically and spiritually feed people and develop stronger communities in some of the most remote regions in the world. SERV will use a $150,000 grant to provide over 1 million meals in the United States and Kenya to those affected by extended quarantine measures related to COVID-19.
• Unstoppable Foundation: Based in Culver City, California, the nonprofit humanitarian organization brings sustainable education to children and communities in developing countries, thereby creating a safer and more just world for everyone. The Unstoppable Foundation will use its $150,000 grant to help villages in Kenya with basic food needs, medical supplies, and increased sanitation practices.
• NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund: Based in New York City, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund is America's premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. Its $50,000 grant will support that work.
• Team Rubicon: Based in Los Angeles, Team Rubicon serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue serving others, leveraging their skills and experience to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises. Its $50,000 grant will go to the nonprofit's COVID-19 response fund, helping Team Rubicon provide emergency medical assistance in the Navajo Nation and move food donations to people in the United States having difficulty accessing and affording food.

Since its inception in 2018, the ISA Foundation has awarded grants totaling $3.4 million to 79 nonprofit partners in the United States and Canada. Those grants have provided over 5 million meals, funded over 30,000 educational events, and served over 225,000 children and families worldwide. The ISA Foundation will accept its next round of grant applications from U.S.-based nonprofits from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. Isagenix will announce the recipients in January.

In addition to grants, the foundation is also assisting nonprofit organizations through product donations, as Isagenix donates products to food banks and ISA Foundation partners throughout the year. In 2020, the company has increased donations to help those affected by COVID-19, including children out of school, homebound seniors, front-line emergency workers, and Navajo Nation residents.

While Isagenix initially committed to donating over $200,000 in products, since March 10, it has donated more than $2.8 million worth of products to nonprofits — many of them grant recipients — in the United States, Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. The product donations represent more than 775,000 snacks and meal replacements, including 154,728 servings of IsaKids® Super Smoothie, a nutritious snack for kids.
