ISPE Foundation Partners with Gilead Sciences on Internship Program to Diversify the Pharma Industry's Workforce
The ISPE Foundation and Gilead Sciences, Inc., have established the ISPE Foundation Diversity Internship Program to provide world-class opportunities to groups that are typically underrepresented in the pharmaceutical industry.
NORTH BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The ISPE Foundation and Gilead Sciences, Inc., have established the ISPE Foundation Diversity Internship Program to provide world-class opportunities to groups that are typically underrepresented in the pharmaceutical industry.
The ISPE Foundation Diversity Internship Program is a 12-week summer program that offers graduate students and undergraduate students in their junior or senior year the opportunity to spend their summer working on high-priority, impactful engineering and facilities projects and workstreams in Gilead's Corporate Operations organization.

There are currently two summer internship opportunities available at Gilead within the Corporate Engineering and Facilities function:
- Mechanical Engineering with Focus on Energy/Sustainability
- Electrical Engineering with Focus on Process Control/Automation
The individuals in both internship roles will be expected to engage in a wide range of activities, such as creating standard equipment or discipline specifications with input from subject matter experts, developing standard installation details in AutoCAD as part of GEP, supporting various PI projects, e.g. checking on data integrity (non-GMP related work).
