Big Data and IPv6 Are Topics of Upcoming Cybersecurity Event
Huntsville, AL (PRWEB) August 12, 2014 -- “Dr. Chaos” and the “IPv6 Security” author are two of the well-known names in the cybersecurity industry who will present at Rocket City TakeDownCon, scheduled for Aug. 18-19 at the Dynetics Solutions Complex in Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park. The conference will take place after four days of hacker training. Dr. Chaos will address big data and author Scott Hogg will talk about IPv6 security threats and protection measures.
“Dr. Chaos” (also known by his real name, Aamir Lakhani) will speak on the topic, “Baseball, Apple Pies and Big Data Security Analytics: Shorten the Kill Chain Window.” A leading security architect responsible for providing IT security solutions to major commercial and federal enterprise organizations, Lakhani has a blog with tens of thousands of followers at http://www.Dr.Chaos.com and is popular on Twitter.
He has designed offensive counter defense measures for defense and intelligence agencies and has assisted organizations in defending themselves from active strike back attacks perpetrated by underground cyber groups. Lakhani is considered an industry leader in support of detailed architectural engagements and projects on topics related to cyber defense, mobile application threats, malware and advanced persistent threat (APT) research and dark security.
Author of the book, “IPv6 Security” from Cisco Press, Scott Hogg is the chief technical officer for Global Technology Resources Inc. (GTRI), a founding member of the Rocky Mountain IPv6 Task Force and a member of the Infoblox IPv6 Center of Excellence. When Hogg is not assisting enterprises and service providers with IPv6 planning, training and deployment activities, he writes a popular blog for NetworkWorld.com. Hogg’s TakeDownCon presentation will cover IPv6 attack tools.
Eric Lopez, EC-Council’s director of conferences and events, said, “Both Aamir and Scott have gained huge followings in the industry and are renowned experts in their areas. We’re pleased to bring them both to Rocket City TakeDownCon for the first time.”
Dynetics Chief Technology Officer Tom Baumbach said, “It is a privilege for us to host such a large number of experts at one conference. We’re excited to be involved with this premiere event in cybersecurity, one of our main areas of interest at Dynetics. It is a must-attend for representatives from business, government and academia interested in protecting their information systems.”
Rocket City TakeDownCon will feature two dynamic tracks during two days, with Monday focused on the “Attack,” teaching participants how even the most protected systems can be breached. The theme for Tuesday will be “Defense,” featuring topics that will challenge attendees to determine if their defense mechanisms are prepared to thwart nefarious and persistent attacks.
Preceding the two-day conference will be the TakeDownCon Training Academy, four days of intense training on Aug. 14-17. EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CHFI (Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator), Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), Mobile Hacking and Forensics, Securing Windows Infrastructure, Advanced Network Defense and Hacking Secure Encryption are some of the classes on the agenda.
