SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., August 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- IWL today announced its new Protocol Test Environment, PTE, to help software engineers become productive faster when testing network protocols for conformance, compliance, and robustness.
PTE incorporates the Robot Framework https://robotframework.org/ – a generic test automation framework for automated acceptance test-driven development. It is a keyword-driven testing framework that uses tabular test data syntax. The associated IWL Test Libraries are written in Python and extendable by users.
IWL has implemented PTE on its popular TCP/IP Test Suite. Clients may use the traditional interface or the new PTE web-based user interface.
"New software engineers prefer a web-based user interface; that's what they know," explained Chris Wellens, President & CEO. "These engineers use our TCP/IP Test Suite to find network protocol bugs, not to learn an interface. With PTE, the user interface is just like the web apps they know, so they can zero in on the real job – finding bugs – and not learning a tool. They may also use the Command Line Interface."
The new PTE interface for the TCP/IP Test Suite offer many enhanced features such as more detailed test reporting and retaining results for multiple test runs.
Current customers who wish to upgrade to the new PTE TCP/IP Test Suite software should contact IWL for a special offer.
