J Dubs Coffee to Become A&E Coffee Roastery & Tea
Manchester, NH (PRWEB) May 27, 2014 -- Jim and Felicia Whitney, owners of J Dubs Coffee in downtown Manchester, and Emeran Langmaid, owner of A&E Coffee Roastery & Tea in Amherst, have announced that J Dubs Coffee on Elm Street will become A&E Coffee on Monday, June 9, 2014.
“Since our inception in 2008, J Dubs Coffee has proudly served A&E Coffee which has awarded us numerous accolades from the local sources,” Jim Whitney said. “After months of discussions, we are excited to announce that Emeran and her team will be taking over J Dubs. We are confident that A&E Coffee will continue to provide the exceptional service and superior products that our wonderful customers have enjoyed for years.”
Whitney said that “it was a great adventure to build this business from the ground up, and now is the best time to move on to the next adventure.” He considers the sale a positive move for everyone involved.
Led by owner Emeran Langmaid, A&E Coffee Roastery & Tea opened in 2001 and was the first USDA Certified Organic Coffee Roaster in New Hampshire. Each batch of coffee served is custom roasted on site in the Amherst café, guaranteeing the freshest, most flavorful coffee possible. Her customers clearly appreciate her extra attention when crafting their coffee and tea and have voted A&E Coffee Best of New Hampshire by New Hampshire Magazine every year between 2006 and 2010; Best Cup of Coffee by the Hippo Press every year since 2010; and Best Cup of Coffee in Souhegan Valley by the Cabinet Press every year since 2010.
“We have been thinking of expansion for some time and we couldn't have asked for a better opportunity than to take over J Dubs in Manchester,” Langmaid said. “Not only was the time right for us, but the opportunity was ideal. Jim and Felicia have built a successful business with a loyal following of customers who have voted the shop Hippo’s Best for the past five years.”
The new A&E Coffee Roastery & Tea café will serve hot and cold coffee and tea beverages as well as smoothies and espresso-based drinks. The shop will also sell coffee beans and whole-leaf teas for customers to enjoy at home. A limited food menu will be available and will focus mostly on pastries.
The sale of the business will be complete on June 9 and Langmaid and her staff will take over the space that day. Langmaid intends to keep the shop open for between one and two weeks and then close for approximately three weeks for renovations. The anticipated grand reopening is during the week of July 7.
Langmaid decided to keep the shop open before renovations for two reasons. “First and foremost, we want to meet Jim’s customers and get to know our new community. Secondly, we’ll use that time to get all of our permits and plans in place to ensure that we’re closed for the shortest possible time.”
