Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival Adds New Tour of Homes to Annual September Arts Extravaganza in Jackson, Wyoming
Jackson Hole, Wyoming (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Proving Jackson Hole’s mettle as a cultural destination, the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival brings its trademark mix of visual, contemporary, culinary, Western, landscape, wildlife and Native American arts to Jackson, Wyo., September 5 – 15, 2013. New for 2013, the 29th annual event includes an opportunity to peek inside some of Jackson, Wyoming’s famously beautiful residences with the new Jackson Hole Showcase of Homes tour. Surrounded by the Teton Mountains in their autumn beauty, the annual Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival offers more than 50 family-friendly activities, many of them free. Visitors enjoy art and artists from around the world, with the chance to purchase original artworks from cowboy to cutting-edge contemporary.
The 2013 Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival roundup of artsy fun includes the Palates & Palettes gallery walk on September 6; tours of historic Jackson Hole ranches September 7; and the crowd-pleasing Taste of the Tetons where participants stroll historic downtown Jackson’s sidewalks sampling gourmet cuisines from area chefs on September 8.
New this year, the Jackson Hole Showcase of Homes will provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity for visitors to tour a selection of area houses on Friday, September 13 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 14 from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. The tour will include homes designed, built and decorated by premier architects, builders and designers, announced Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce Director of Special Events Maureen Murphy, who adds that the new event will benefit community nonprofits.
As the 10-day festival continues, the National Museum of Wildlife Art presents its 26th annual Western Visions® Wild West Artist Party and Miniatures and More Show & Sale on September 12 and 13, and artists create original works in a flash at the popular QuickDraw Art Sale and Auction in Jackson’s Town Square on September 14. Museum-quality contemporary Western style will be on display at the Western Design Conference, the unique exhibition of one-of-a-kind Western decorative arts and fashion sponsored by "Teton Home and Living" magazine, which runs from September 5 – 8 and includes an exhibit and sale, fashion and jewelry show and more.
Cowboy artist and Idaho native Jason Rich, known for reflecting the authenticity of the cowboy way in his award-winning work, is featured artist for the 2013 Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival. Rich credits his Western roots as the inspiration behind his work, which draws on his firsthand “cowboying” experiences. Rich’s original large-scale oil painting “River Overlook – Gros Ventre River Ranch” will be on display at the Wort Hotel from Memorial Day weekend through Saturday, September 14. Posters featuring the painting will be on sale at the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and Rich will do a poster signing event at Legacy Gallery on Wednesday, September 11.
