James Clarke, a retired military man and Presbyterian church elder from Costa Mesa, California, has completed his new book “Out of Darkness: A Book of Devotionals and Poems”: a gathering of Christian thinking and feelings.

Author Clarke writes about the genesis of the devotional: “This book is a compilation of mini devotionals and poems originally intended for the ‘Covenant Call’ our monthly ‘church’ magazine. Much of the subject matter comes from personal experiences or pressing questions of a spiritual nature. I do not have all the answers. Some of the work is influenced by my teaching and military careers. And of course, I try to use humor whenever possible.”

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, James Clarke’s new book is a straightforward, enriching work for those who would appreciate a sermon’s worth of spiritual food in bite-sized servings. Clarke touches on all essential bases in a believer’s life, not just addressing the unique terrain of the faith but also everyday life in the modern world.

Readers who wish to experience this thought-provoking work can purchase “Out of Darkness: A Book of Devotionals and Poems” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
