SAN JOSE, Calif., July 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Silicon Valley chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI-SV ), the leading professional organization for finance professionals, announced that Jan Robertson, a 30-year veteran finance executive, has been named its next president. Robertson has spent an overwhelming majority of her career in senior leadership positions orchestrating mergers and acquisitions. A longtime FEI-SV board member, Robertson previously served as first chapter vice president before being elevated to the chapter's chief executive position.
Robertson will spearhead the continual innovation of the professional development, networking and advocacy activities that have made FEI-SV an indispensable resource for hundreds of the Bay Area's most accomplished chief financial officers, treasurers and controllers. She will oversee the development of the next generation of research, peer-to-peer networking events and lobbying initiatives put on by the organization.
Robertson brings a wealth of experience as a finance executive to the position. She has spent the last 18 years as managing partner and CEO of SiVal Advisors, a technology-focused advisory firm in Silicon Valley where the professionals have completed over 500 transactions worth $12 billion in deal value. Prior to that, she spent five years as managing director at Needham & Company where she co-founded and built out the firm's West Coast M&A practice. She also served as managing director of mergers and acquisitions at RBC Capital Markets in the 1990s. In 2012, Silicon Valley Business Journal named her one of the region's "Top 100 Women of Influence."
"I've had the privilege of benefitting from FEI-SV's unique educational resources and the unparalleled wisdom of its members for several years, and I truly believe that finance executives need the chapter now more than ever," said Robertson. "With uncertainty surrounding our economy and pubic health, finance department heads can't go it alone in leading their companies through the challenges that lay ahead. I'm eager to help Silicon Valley finance executives leverage FEI-SV's collective body of knowledge and influence as they navigate what promises to be bumpy terrain in the coming years."
FEI's Silicon Valley chapter was founded in 1976. It currently counts 300 members representing public and private companies from a diverse array of industries. You can find more information at https://feisv.org.
