BERGEN, Norway (PRWEB) June 09, 2015 -- Author and world adventurer Jan Hasselberg travels to the fjords of Tufi, Papua New Guinea, exploring the island’s colorful culture and majestic surroundings in “Beautiful Tufi: Between the Past and Future” (published by AuthorHouse UK).
Hasselberg is performing a renewed marketing push for his 2012 publication that introduces readers to the home of a friendly and hospitable people that live in close touch with the sea and the mountains and the forest behind.
“They have a dramatic history, their colorful traditions are still very much alive, and at the same time they are part of a modern world that comes closer every day,” Hasselberg says. “No one has really written about this place before, so I could see that it had to be done.”
Hasselberg had traveled to Tufi a number of times, personally experiencing the village’s splendor firsthand before returning for six additional months to gather further information for his book and explore the area even further as he traveled from village to village.
In words and pictures, “Beautiful Tufi” tells the story of what it is like to live in the villages of Tufi. Hasselberg gives readers not only information regarding its history, but also tells of the locals’ everyday lives, giving readers further insight into the villagers’ joys, worries and hopes for the future.
“What life is actually like in a relatively remote area is unknown to the vast majority of readers,” Hasselberg says. “I want readers to see and appreciate that Papua New Guinea is an attractive country with wonderful people, and with many exciting and untold stories.”
