In commemoration of the Golden Week holiday, Jeenie™ is partnering with the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) and Attract China to not only attract more Chinese shoppers to Madison Avenue retail locations, but also to make these shoppers feel welcome. The Chinese National Day holiday is a golden time for travel as it is the longest public holiday in China after the Chinese New Year.

U.S. based retailers and travel destinations are capitalizing on the increasing number of Chinese tourists traveling abroad each year. Chinese consumers now account for 32 percent of the spending on luxury goods worldwide. To meet this demand, more high-end retailers in the United States are increasingly catering to Chinese customers and, consequently, taking steps to better understand the culture, adopt mobile trends, and reduce the language barrier.

Jeenie™ and Madison Avenue BID have partnered to provide the retailers on Madison Avenue with access to on-demand language assistance and, thus, to deliver a superior shopping experience to customers. “We have much to offer Chinese visitors. In an afternoon on Madison Avenue, shoppers can combine visits to cultural touchstones, like Central Park, The Met Breuer Museum and The Frick Collection, with luxury shopping experiences at the flagship boutiques of the world’s leading fashion, jewelry and accessory brands,” says Matthew Bauer, President of the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District. “To attract more Chinese shoppers, we knew we had to address the language gap in order to help our retailers build longer-term relationships. This is why we approached Jeenie. The Jeenie Mobile App provides our stores with an affordable way to access an English<>Mandarin or English<>Cantonese speakers at any time of the day,” continues Bauer.

Retailers Use Jeenie™ to Attract More International Clients

The Jeenie™ Mobile App is now in the hands of management and sales staff at stores up and down Madison Avenue that are taking significant steps to attract more Chinese shoppers, including Roberto Cavalli, Isabel Marant, Kwiat and Fred Leighton.
