Jim Bollenbacher, a retired American government and American history teacher from northern Ohio, has completed his new book “The Signers: The Adventures of the Cushman Family”: an exciting and complex story that uses a series of deceptive means in order to foil the plans of signing the Declaration of Independence.

Jim writes, “The sun was creeping slowly above the dark-blue water, creating a spectrum of bright colors that could only be truly enjoyed at sea. Cool morning air left thin layers of moisture covering the entire exterior of the majestic wooden vessel. Captain George Medford smiled as he gazed at the beautiful orange ball from the quarterdeck of the British war frigate HMS Richmond. The 127-foot Richmond cut smoothly through the slight chop of the Delaware Bay, heading east out into the Atlantic Ocean. As Medford skillfully guided the nineteen-year-old warship, he reflected upon his current run of good fortune. His assignment in the colonies had been a godsend, reversing years of bad luck and probably saving his life. Eleven months ago, he was on the verge of bankruptcy and ruin; now he was on the precipice of fame and fortune. It indeed had been a tumultuous few years. Thank God for the dim-witted, pathetic rabble occupying the British colonies of North America. Without their impertinence, he would surely be in jail or dead.”

Published by Page Publishing, Jim Bollenbacher’s page-turning tale spans the days leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, with conflict, assassinations, and a single man pushed into the middle of the crossfire.

The reluctant hero, Benjamin Cushman, is found in the middle of the oncoming storm. With the onslaught of deception and murder plots, the signing of the document seems to out of reach and more dangerous than anticipated.

Readers who wish to experience this gripping work can purchase “The Signers: The Adventures of the Cushman Family” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
