JMJ Phillip Group Cooks Up Another Way to Give Back by Volunteering at Ronald McDonald House

JMJ Phillip brought a team of nine employees down to the Ronald McDonald House on July 24th to cook up culinary favorites to feed families in the Detroit area.

Ronald McDonald House currently serves as a home away from home for families with children undergoing extensive medical treatment. The organization helps alleviate the financial burden that expenses like hotels and travel pose on family members and hospital patients while providing the comfort and familiarities of a normal life for those experiencing traumatic circumstances.

Understanding the critical need and wanting to aid in life-changing hospitality efforts, the JMJ Phillip staff of manufacturing recruiters, supply chain recruiters, and technology recruiters pitched in by cooking up a menu of apple chicken stir fry, egg rolls, and freshly baked, soul-warming chocolate chip cookies for the families currently living in the 28 rooms.

Ronald McDonald House boards a family of up to four members for a donation of $10 dollars a night. If families are unable to provide monetary donations, the location still opens their doors 24 hours before and after the children's treatment or appointments. Each room comes with a private bathroom and has shared access to public areas such as the kitchen, living and dining rooms, media center, children/teen rooms, courtyards, and laundry rooms. In addition to this, each family has the ability to store their own groceries in lockers or assigned fridge space.
