John Perdue Applauds West Virginia Company for Global Accomplishments
TROY was excited to talk to Treasurer Perdue about their security solutions which can offer the state better options to protect printed payments and constituents' identities.
WHEELING, W.Va., Oct. 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- TROY Group was honored with a visit from John Perdue, West Virginia State Treasurer, to discuss the company's global achievements. Receiving four awards from Governor Jim Justice for exporting into new countries this year, TROY was excited to talk to Treasurer Perdue about their security solutions which can offer the state better options to protect printed payments and constituents' identities.
The commendation recognizes TROY as one of 30 West Virginia businesses that successfully exported products worldwide in 2019. For their part, TROY entered four international markets for the first time: Guyana, Malta, Swaziland, and Zambia. Government agencies and organizations in these countries have partnered with TROY to protect printed data and reduce fraud risks. Along with these countries, TROY's products are currently being used in 131 other countries.
"It is a great privilege for TROY Group, Inc to be recognized as a leading exporter in the region for the eighth consecutive year at West Virginia Governor's Commendation Awards for First International Market Entry 2020. It reflects a long-standing commitment of our team on expanding and exploring new international markets for our security printing solutions," said Ala Simms, International Sales Operations.
TROY's focus is on securing checks and sensitive documents globally and in their own backyard of West Virginia. In the past year, WV city, county and state government officials have visited and explored the value of TROY's unique print solutions. In the Northern Panhandle, both Ohio and Marshall counties already use TROY's Vital Records and Locking Printers to secure birth, marriage, and death certificates.
During Perdue's visit, a brief, socially distanced meeting was held outdoors due to COVID. Perdue previously visited TROY in late 2019, receiving a full tour of their manufacturing plant located in Wheeling, WV. During the meetings, the parties discussed how TROY's specialty print solutions can prevent tampering of checks or other printed financial instruments.
"Working to combat both vital records and check fraud within West Virginia has become a priority for TROY. When we presented this to West Virginia officials , they were immediately on board and willing to work with us to roll out both our vital records and secure check printing solutions," said Erik Harris, Manager of Inside Sales and Support. "Our goal is to gain adoption throughout all 55 counties. During times of change and unrest, there is a noted increase in fraud, especially with employees working from home and more checks and documents being sent through the mail. We will continue to work with state officials to raise awareness of fraud and increase secure solutions mandates throughout government offices. It's really about protecting the West Virginia businesses and citizens."
